Am I over thinking this and setting myself up to fail?

This guy and I have been talking for about a month now and up until recently he used to text me all the time, now it'll take hours before he responds to my text if he even does. We still continue to hangout a lot, in fact he's been over the last 4 nights in a row. Whenever we hangout he still seems very interested in me, by cuddling/ kissing/ holding hands etc. I guess i just worry that he is losing interest by lack of texting? Or is that so small and petty that i'm over thinking it?
