Is this normal behavior? tried to poison someone? i have a 5 year old neice that is very spoiled?

Someone has to explain to your niece that that is dangerous and she can hurt someone. If no one tells her, she'll do it again thinking it ok and it can end badly..you should talk to her parents about this.
